Spiritual Direction and Supervision
Spiritual Direction may be described as an interpersonal situation in which one person assists another to develop and come to greater maturity in the life of the spirit; the life of faith, hope and charity (compassionate love).
Some purposes of Spiritual Direction are:
I received my Spiritual Direction training through a rigorous, 4-year Spiritual Direction Formation practicum grounded in the Catholic/Christian tradition offered through Fairfield University. My training has been augmented by the 2 years I served as a staff partner in the Spiritual Life Center of West Hartford, CT internship program. Following my Spiritual Direction training, I completed an intensive year-long Supervision (of Spiritual Directors) training program offered by Together in the Mystery. The rigor and thoroughness of all of these programs prepared me well for the companioning work that I've been companioning folks since 2014.
Though I have accompanied folks from different Faith traditions and following a variety of Spiritual paths, I find that dedication to my own Christian Contemplative Spiritual journey makes me particularly effective in companioning those who are seeking God and spiritual growth along that path. For those interested I also incorporate BioSpiritual Focusing into my companioning practice.

Some purposes of Spiritual Direction are:
- To notice God's specific self-communication in life, relationships and prayer; and offer an exterior and interior response to God's self-relevation and to discern a particular decision or direction in life
- To grow in loving relationship with God
- To notice, savor, revisit, enjoy and respond to the deep loving touches of God
- To recognize, explore, and unpack areas of resistance and lack of freedom holding one back from God's touch
- To experience greater interior freedom, deeper joy, a fuller life and richer relationships with God, self and others
